The "Who" by Andy Neill

For over two decades, Roger Daltry, Pete Townshend, Keith Moon and John Entwistle went on a rock 'n' roll rampage that would alter the course of pop-music history. With original information, memorabilia and photographs, this book is a day-to-day chronicle of the band's ride. Organized by year, each chapter gives an overview of the band's fortunes and prospects, and presents in diary fashion exactly what the boys were doing. The book includes detailed information about concert tours, radio and television gigs, recording sessions, record releases (including UK and US variations) and solo activities, and gives insights into the members' professional and personal relationships. There are quotes from the band members as well as from individuals who knew them and worked with them throughout the years.
Andy Neill is a freelance author who has written extensively about popular music, including regular contributions to Record Collector and Mojo. His knowledge of The Who inspired A Fortnight of Furore - a privately published account of the group's notorious Australasian tour and led to him penning the CD notes to the historically important BBC Sessions Anthology. He acts as the archive consultant on Channel 4's documentaries Hellraisers, The Real Keith Moon, and The Real John Lennon. Matt Kent is one of the key organisers of Who conventions in the UK and co-founder of the Who fan club Naked Eye. He has provided notes for many of the Who concert programmes and has contributed to the recent reissues of the band's back catalogue as well as doing research for television. He currently works for Pete Townshend, managing his websites.
