Why Do Birds Eat Bagels? by Mikayla Lowery
This precious book ponders all of the peculiar things that would happen to birds if they ate anything besides bagels. From dancing hip-hop to playing piano, Why Do Birds Eat Bagels? shows us just how wholesome bagels are.
Lowery, Mikayla: - Mikayla Grace Lowery was born in China on August 23rd, 2005 in a large city called Chong Qing. Someone took her to an orphanage where she stayed for a year. She was blessed beyond measure to be adopted by Scott and Jenny Lowery of Cartersville, Georgia, one month after her first birthday. Mikayla is now eleven and still lives in Georgia, bringing joy to everyone she knows. She started writing short stories when she was nine and created the character of Zoey Song at age ten. Thus Zoey's zany life was born. Charlie's Port publishes Mikayla's monthly blog that explores the art of writing from a child's viewpoint. Charlie's Port is developing the Zany Zoey series and has commissioned her to write a picture book about the eating habits of birds. Of course Mikayla's favorite thing to do is write. She spent eight years as a competitive gymnast, winning herself over seventy medals. Bent on becoming a professional child author, she has decided to step back from gymnastics to focus on her craft but stays active with CrossFit training. She is the only female in her current group, which consists of many men aged fourteen to fifty. That is no joke. Mikayla loves all forms of visual art, interior design, and calligraphy. She also plays the piano and is very active at her church. She has been an honor roll student every year and is currently in sixth grade working above grade level in ELA and Math and AP science. Mikayla is very devoted and never gives up on a goal. She maintains countless proud supporters.
