Willard Mullin's Golden Age of Baseball by Hal Brock

Willard Mullin's Golden Age Of Baseball collects Mullin's best drawings devoted to baseball for the first time - depictions of players like Joe DiMaggio, Ted Williams, Yogi Berra and Sandy Koufax. Also featuring are legendary managers like Cast Stengel and George Steinbrenner, as well as events like Lou Gehrig's emotional retirement speech on July 4, 1939. Mullin's fluid line and delicate but vigorous brushwork are shown to beautiful effect, with many drawings reproduced from original art.

Willard Mullin (1902-1978) was an American sports cartoonist who is well known for creating the Brooklyn Bum, the baseball team's personification. He was widely published: for decades, he was a daily cartoonist for Scripps-Howard's New York World-TelegramandSun, and he was frequently featured in Scripps-Howard's papers, as well as The Sporting News.
