The feel-good place to buy books

William Daniell's Inverness & the Moray Firth by John Garvey
The book is in many ways unique. It follows the journey made by the artist William Daniell. Where the artist published an aquatint of a view or a castle in 1815, there is photographic evidence of how this same view or castle as it is today.
Born and brought up in Inverness, Scotland, John Garvey attended the Inverness Royal Academy. He then studied physics at Glasgow University, followed by working as a Research Associate at Oxford University. After more than thirty years at Birmingham University, he retired as Professor of Particle Physics. Having always had an interest in art, John has been fascinated with the work of William Daniell since discovering him in 1969.
