Carlo Petrini is the founder and international president of the Slow Food movement, which promotes healthy, clean, and fair food. He was born in the small northern Italian town of Bra in 1949. He is the author of several books and often contributes to Italian newspapers and journals on gastronomy and food politics. He worked closely with Carlo Bogliotti, editor of the Slowfood magazine and governor of the Slow Food Italy organisation, on Terra Madre.
