Elsie Campbell is most renowned for her stunning hand-quilted, award-winning quilts, but she began her career as a dressmaker, like many other quilters. She grew up in Deer Creek, Oklahoma, where she attended Deer Creek Mennonite Church and learned to quilt from her mother and the Deer Creek Mennonite Women's Mission Society. She taught home economics and special education in public schools after graduating from a small teachers college in Oklahoma. Elsie has won multiple important accolades for her quilts, which she began exhibiting nationwide in 1992. She recently took home Best Machine Workmanship prizes at a number of major shows.

Previous honors include:? Elsie and her 38-year-old husband Kenneth live in Ponca City, Oklahoma. The couple is the parents of two grown sons.
