The Wish Weaver by Dash Hoffman

Amias and his young friends enjoy simple lives in their village at the foot of the Kamado mountains, though there are circumstances for each of them that they wish they could change; a family member with ill health, a love unrequited, a life debt that cannot be repaid, and more. A traveling stranger passes through the village and enchants them with a tale of the Wish Weaver who lives far up the mountain and weaves wishes into being.

When his friends decide to go to the Wish Weaver to change their lives, Amias determines to go with them, though he is skeptical about anyone granting wishes freely to one and all. Along the journey the friends face tremendous hardships and when their quest takes a dark turn, Amias becomes the only one who might be able to save them all. If he is very clever and very lucky, his sole wish might come true.

This book is written in the style of an old Grimm's Bros fairytale and an Aesop fable. It is light and dark, and there are many moral lessons to discover woven deftly into the story. This tale takes a hard look at choosing what is right over what is easy, at moral value over material value, at self-love over infatuation, and at strong, true friendships.
