The Witch Bag by Sarah Corbett
Sarah Corbett's collection opens with the title poem, an invocation of woman as witch, a spellbinder who is both 'weightless, thin as pond moss' and 'blacker than the pond's black belly'.
Sarah Corbett was born in Chester and grew up in rural north Wales. She has studied at the Universities of Leeds and East Anglia. Her first collection was nominated for the T.S. Eliot and Forward Prizes.
