
The Witchs Tears by Jenny Nimmo
In freezing hail and howling wind a stranger is given shelter at Theo's house - a stranger who loves telling stories and whose name is Mrs Scarum. Theo is convinced she's a witch and wishes his father would return home from his travels, but the blizzard continues and the night is long.
Jenny Nimmo has been an actor, researcher, floor-manager and script editor for children’s television. Her first book ‘The Bronze Trumpeter’ was published in 1975. ‘The Snow Spider’ won the Tir na N’Og award and the Smarties Grand Prix. Her most recent book, for older readers, is ‘Milo’s Wolves’. Jenny Nimmo was born in Windsor, Berkshire and now lives in Wales with her artist husband and three bi-lingual children. Paul Howard studied graphic design in Leicester, graduating in 1989 with first class honours. For a time he worked in London's Natural History Museum. He lives in Ireland. He won the Blue Peter Children’s Book Award 2001.
