The popular fantasy novel Tinker introduced the inventor-heroine of the same name, who lives in a near-future Pittsburgh, which shares an interdimensional border with the land of the elves. In this sequel, Wolf Who Rules, the elven noble whose destinWen Spencer, the 2003 John Campbell Prize winner, lived in Pittsburgh for twenty years, so it's only natural that she sets her stories there. She currently resides with her husband and son just outside of Boston. Her writing is influenced by her love of Japanese anime and manga. Tinker, her fantasy novel, was nominated for the Romantic Times Review Choice Award for Best Fantasy in 2003 and received the Sapphire Award. Anne McCaffery has selected Wen as one of two suggested authors on her website.
