A Women's Guide to Saving the World by Karen Eberhardt Shelton

A stream of stories by women, known and not, from various walks of life and areas of persuasion - presented as an anthology to provide suggestions, solutions, opinions on what we all can do to make the world out there, or in our midst, a better, kinder, friendlier, more equitable and rational place to live; not just through barely managing, but by putting into practice the harmony needed for co-existing with each other and everything on earth.
I was born in California. My mother, a teacher, was offered a Fulbright and the family moved to Manchester. For me, it was like returning to ancestral roots (de Sheltons go back to the time of King John). Thus, some years on, partly as a result of marriage to a local lad, I became a British citizen. Due to inheritance of my father's 'explorer' gene, I travelled and lived in various parts of the world, later married a New York journalist, adopted a baby girl from India, and alone with my daughter, moved permanently back to Britain in 1999. My intense reading of informative books has galvanized my determination to devote the rest of my life to doing whatever I can to change the way people think in terms of respecting the Earth as our one true home.
