Words that Circled the World by Richard Bewes

Richard Bewes weaves some of the best-known quotes of our era into a remarkable book. Through these well known statements he is able to explore what motivates the modern mind and contrasts it with the wisdom of the Christian message. This unique book enables you to understand why the Christian faith is such a radical alternative in the post-modern world.

"He has a profound knowledge of Scripture, a close understanding of the contemporary world, and an uncanny knack of finding points of contact between the twoI warmly recommend it to anybody who wants to probe the basic issues of life. It is well conceived, well researched and well written. Readers will find in it, as I have done, a rich blend of insight, sanity, wisdom and humour, with Jesus Christ himself always at the centre."

-- John Stott ( (1921-2011), Rector Emeritus, All Souls Church, Langham Place, London)
Richard Bewes (1934 – 2019) was the author of several beloved books of faith including ‘Talking About Prayer’, ‘150 Pocket Thoughts’, and ‘The Goodnight Book’. Bewes was the rector of All Souls Church in the centre of London from 1983 until his retirement in 2004. In 2005 he was awarded an OBE for his services to the Church of England.
