Workshop Idea Book by Andy Rae
Not being part of the living space of the house, a workshop is often in an area with physical challenges, such as low head room in a basement shop or the need to work around a difficult floor plan. Specialised woodworking tasks require different shop configurations and different tooling and a different strategy for layout or accessories. This book uses the popular Idea Book format to address these many challenges, showing a wide variety of clever ideas and solutions for basics such as tool storage, lumber storage, accessorising workbenches for special tasks, and dedicated workstations. Before starting his own woodworking company, Andy Rae worked with George Nakashima and Frank Klausz. For his furniture designs, he received a New Jersey Council of the Arts Fellowship. Rae, a former editor of American Woodworker, now lives in Asheville, North Carolina, where she makes furniture and teaches and writes about woodworking.
