The World Atlas of Birds by Unknown Author

Illustrated with full colour portraits of 500 birds, maps of their habitats and in-depth diagrams, world-leading ornithologists have put together a fascinating guide to the birds that populate the Earth. Divided up per region, it provides a colourful, informative and scientific description of the array of birds that exist on the planet.
Sir Peter Scott (1909 - 1989) was a British ornithologist and conservationist, son of Antarctic explorer Robert Scott. Peter Scott served in the Royal Navy during World War II and went on to become one of the founders of the World Wide Fund for Nature in 1961. He presented the BBC's first wildlife programme Look for 17 years and was knighted in 1973. Other contributing editors are C. Hilary Fry, Senior Lecturer in Zoology at the University of Aberdeen and J.J.M. Flegg, Director of the British Trust for Ornithology.
