He has a background in investigating the inexplicable, including folklore and urban mythology, fortune telling, the pyramids, and other enigmatic tales.
In the 1990s, he wrote a syndicated column called Magic and the Unknown, which appeared in several local papers around his home state for six years. Hall lives in Plainville, Connecticut, with his two sons.
