Yeah Yeah Yeah by Bob Stanley

'Stanley is both a fine writer and an impassioned celebrant of pop in all its mongrel, misfit glory.' STUART MACONIE, THE TIMES There have been many books on pop music but none have attempted to chart its entire story, from the dawn of the charts in the fifties to pop's digital switchover in the year 2000, from Billy Fury and Roxy Music to TLC and Britney via Led Zeppelin and Donna Summer. Audacious and addictive, Yeah Yeah Yeah is a landmark work that will remind you why you fell in love with it in the first place.
Bob Stanley is a writer, musician, DJ, and film producer. Since founding influential pop group Saint Etienne, Bob has enjoyed a parallel career as a music journalist, contributing to publications such as the Times, Smash Hits, NME, the Guardian and the Face. A former artist-in-residence at the Southbank Centre, his films have been shown at the ICA and Royal Festival Hall, and he has curated several seasons for the Barbican. He is the author of Yeah Yeah Yeah - a Sunday Times Pop Music Book of the Year and a Rough Trade Book of the Year - and Let's Do It: The Birth of Pop.
