A Year in the Centre by Brian O'driscoll
Offers a glimpse into the life of a rugby superstar who plays it hard on and off the pitch - Brian O'Driscoll. This title ranges from the gruelling winter-time training sessions in Ireland and rehab sessions in Poland to the controversial tackle in New Zealand that ended O'Driscoll's Lions tour and threatened his career.
Brian O'Driscoll was born in Dublin in 1979 and started playing rugby for Blackrock College. After doing a sports management course in University College Dublin he became a professional rugby-player and was picked to play for Ireland in 1999. At 21 he scored a hat-trick of tries against France, and at 23 he was made captain of Ireland. He is now Ireland's all time leading try-scorer and has earned the unquestioned admiration of rugby pundits across the globe. In 2001 he was a first-string player on the British & Irish Lions tour of Australia, and this year he captains the Lions on their tour of New Zealand.
