YIN OF TAI CHI by John Lash
Often described as the "ancient beginning", Wu Chi forms the basis of all of the Oriental disciplines. It is the essence of the Tao and the Tai Chi journey, binding us to our fellow creatures and the world around us. In short, Wu Chi is the "Mother" of all that is and, in the words of the author, "It is Wu Chi that we must find if we are to return to the sacred universe of the ancients". Yet few Tai Chi students have any real understanding of what Wu Chi is. In this remarkable book, John Lash sets out the principles and central philosophies of Wu Chi in his characteristically clear and accessible style, bringing the wisdom of the ancients to the modern West.
Raised in Texas, John Lash has studied and practised Tai Chi for over thirty years and has a masters degree in Philosophy. After service in the US Marine Corps and the US Army, he travelled around Europe, the Middle East and Asia, visiting the sacred places of the world's major faiths and religions. John Lash is now based in Berne, Switzerland, where he operates the Harmonious Dragon Tai Chi School.
