Stephanie Pappas (also known as Stephanie Pappas, Stephanie Pappas, Stephanie Pappas, Stephanie Pappas, Stephanie Stefani) grew up in central New Jersey after being born in New York City in 1960. She graduated from Douglass College at Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She worked in the telecommunications industry for ten years after graduating from college. Stephanie began practicing and teaching yoga and meditation in 1992, when she met Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, an Indian instructor.

She is the founder and director of the Devalila Yoga Teacher Training, a 200-hour Yoga Alliance-registered program. Stephanie has trained over 175 teachers around North America and hosts teacher workshops in New Jersey once a year. Yoga Posture Adjustments and Helping, her book for yoga teachers, was published in 2006 and is available in Spanish through Trafford. She is currently working on her next book, Reflections of a Codependent Yogi: Book One - Exploring the Stickiness of Relationships and the Yearning for Self-Love, which will be published in 2010.

Stephanie is also a massage therapist, an interfaith minister, a belly dance instructor, an aspiring web designer, and an English as a Second Language teacher. Stephanie spends part of the year in Tulum, Mexico, writing books, tending to her tropical garden, playing with her nine cats, teaching, and writing books and articles. Stephanie can lead workshops and trainings all around the world.
