Allan J.Lichtman is a Distinguished Professor of History and the former Associate Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and Chair of the Department of History at American University in Washington, DC. He being the author or co-author of eight books, the most recent of which is FDR and the Jews (with Richard Breitman), which was a New York Times Editor's Choice pick and a finalist for the Los Angeles Times Book Prize in History. He's also been a National Book Critics Circle Award finalist. He is a Maryland resident.
