Abi Elphinstone grew up in Scotland, where she spent her childhood making dens, hiding in tree houses, and roaming wild through the glens of the Highlands. She studied English at Bristol University after being pulled out of her tree house, and subsequently worked as a teacher in Africa, Berkshire, and London.
