The Illustrated Guide to Pregnancy, Babycare and Baby Food Summary

The Illustrated Guide to Pregnancy, Babycare and Baby Food: An Expert Visual Sourcebook on All Aspects of Pregnancy and Caring for Your New Baby by Alison Mackonochie

This book is a one-stop reference guide that will be essential reading from the moment you discover that you are pregnant. Packed with practical advice and useful tips, it covers everything you need to know about your pregnancy and new baby. The book is helpfully divided into four sections. Pregnancy - provides a weekly account of the changes that take place in your body and the changes and development of the unborn child as it grows. It also gives details of medical tests and standard routines, exercise, diet and the preparations you will need to make for birth. Babycare - is full of practical information about feeding, bathing and generally caring for your new baby. It also covers the emotional and physical changes that you are likely to experience during the post-natal period and how to cope with them. The First Year - examines the physical and mental development of your child month by month, from birth to year one and explains how you and your partner can help your baby's progress through the physical and intellectual stimulation of play. Cooking for Babies and Toddlers - explains the dietary needs of babies and young children and provides over 150 delicious recipes. Written with today's busy parents in mind, it offers time-saving tips to make it easier to cook for the family, adapting recipes to suit the different nutritional needs of a baby, a toddler and hungry adults. Each section is fully illustrated with clear and informative photographs, making this the first and only guide and reference book you will need in order to understand and care for your baby from conception to toddlerhood.
