The detailed specialized knowledge of eel culture as developed in Japan is explained in English by the author for the benefit of all involved in eel farming. This work does not apply to Japan only - there are sections covering conditions in Europe, America, Australia and New Zealand. Moreover the basic chapters such as choosing a site for an eel farm, eel farm design and construction, feeding of eels, water quality and control and many others can apply universally.
