About Bryan Cooney

George Connelly made 254 appearances for Celtic between 1968 and 1975. He was a Scotland international and hailed as the greatest Scottish talent of his generation. He walked away from football at the age of 26 and has never told his story until now. Bryan Cooney, a Fleet Street journalist of 25 years and former sports editor of the Scottish Daily Mail works as a freelance columnist with the Sunday Herald and as a broadcaster with BBC Radio Scotland.
