About C. Venkata S. Ram

Venkata S. Ram is rated as one of the top most hypertension experts in the world. He currently is director of Blood Pressure Clinics and Institute For Blood Pressure Management at Apollo Hospitals, and Apollo Medical College, Hyderabad, India. He also is Professor of Medicine University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, Dallas. After his graduation at the Osmania medical college in Hyderabad, he underwent additional post graduate training at Brown University, Providence, USA, and at the University of Pennsylvania, USA. During his extensive career as a clinician, educator, and researcher in hypertension, he served on the faculty of University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, USA for over 30 years, as the director of hypertension clinics at Parkland, and St.Paul University Hospitals, Dallas, USA.

He was actively involved in the most important international societies and is now on the executive committee of the World Hypertension League. He has authored 360 papers and 4 books.

Dr Teo graduated from National University of Ireland (University College, Cork). He underwent internal medicine residency training in Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, USA, and nephrology fellowship training at the Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio, USA. He is currently an Associate Professor of the School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. He is also Senior Consultant and Head of the Division of Nephrology, Department of Medicine, National University Hospital, Singapore. Dr Teo is the Research Director, and Associate Program Director of the Peritoneal Dialysis Program. He is the President of the Singapore Hypertension Society and Secretary of the Singapore Society of Nephrology.

Gurpreet S. Wander graduated from PGIMER, Chandigarh, where he also had his post-graduate education in cardiology. He currently is Head of the department of Cardiology at Hero DMC Heart Institute, Dayanand Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana, Punjab, a 180 bedded tertiary care referral centre which runs MCI approved DM programme in cardiology from the last 10 years. He also is the Medical Director of Ludhiana Rotary Pacemaker Bank which has implanted 100 free pacemakers to needy patients. Elected member and now a fellow of the prestigious National Academy of Medical Sciences. He serves on the editorial board of JAPI, Indian Heart Journal and Heart Jl. Has published 188 research papers, 90 of them in foreign Journals of international reputation as The Lancet, Nature Genetics, Journal of American College of Cardiology, American Journal of Cardiology and Annals of Human Genetics.
