Wake Up, Alfred! Summary

Wake Up, Alfred!: A Photographic Story by David Ellwand

Sleepy Alfred has a special day to prepare for. He needs to have a bath, lay the table, make a cake and hang up the decorations - because today is his birthday and it's time for a party! A beautiful gift for dog lovers and a celebratory first read for toddlers, culminating in a festive furry feast. Photographed pre-digitally in black and white film and with simple text, this title evokes the best of traditional high-quality picture board books.

Wake Up, Alfred! Reviews

"...there is a gently story here, which is something most board books don't have. There's a progression which children over the age of about a year are going to understand. The photography is excellent and the pictures interesting. The boards are strong and will stand quite a bit of toddler handling...the book made me smile and there were giggles from the other reader..." TheBookbag
