About Ethelind Fearon

Ethelind Fearon was born in 1898 and lived in Thaxted, Essex. Her great passion was gardening (she was gardener to H.G Wells) and restoring fourteenth-century houses, but under pressure from publishers and an eager public she also wrote a number of books on such diverse but essential subjects as pigkeeping, pastries, how to keep pace with your daughter and how to grow herbs. She also wrote a number of children's books, including The Secret of the Chateau and The Sheep-dog Adventure. Ethelind Fearon died in 1974.
