Monmouthshire Villages Summary

Monmouthshire Villages by Geoffrey Davies

As well as highlighting the well known beauty spots in villages along the River Wye and the many castles and Roman remains, some hidden gems are revealed like the roodscreen and loft in St Jerome's church at Llangwm and the isolated church at Kilgwrrwg along with legends of fairies in Abertysswg and Bassaleg being the birthplace of the Arthurian Merlin.

About Geoffrey Davies

Geoffrey Davies was born and educated in Glamorgan before studying History and Philosophy at St David's, Lampeter. A keen photographer, he developed the Enchanted Towy website and became intrigued by the wealth of half forgotten history and the beauty of Welsh villages. He has embarked on a series of books on the villages of Wales and has so far written Carmarthenshire Villages, Pembrokeshire Villages, Vale of Glamorgan Villages and West Glamorgan Villages.
