The Pocket Oxford Book of Prayer was first published as a paperback in 1989. It is a selection of prayers made by Bishop George Appleton, the majority taken from the highly respected Oxford Book of Prayer. It is arranged in twelve thematic sections which cover something of the breadth of prayers in regular use and it is intended for personal devotional use. The bonded leather edition is designed for presentations. It is particularly suitable for Confirmations, First Communions, Ordinations and similar occasions.
