O Come, Emmanuel Summary

O Come, Emmanuel: Reflections of the Music and Readings for Advent and Christmas by Revd Gordon Giles

Bible readings and reflections for every day from December 1 to January 6, with each day's readings also focusing on a relevant piece of seasonal music. The music includes familiar carols (such as Once in royal David's city, While shepherds watched, Hark! The herald, In the bleak midwinter), hymns (such as Thou whose almighty word, Lo! He comes, O come O come Emmanuel) and other seasonal music (ranging from The shepherds' farewell to The 12 days of Christmas). The book concludes with a section of group study material.
