The images, shapes, forms, colours and textures of the Greek Islands have inspired Hans Silvester, the famous photographer of the book "Cats of the Greek Islands", to another mode of expression, far different from conventional documentary photography. "Kaleidoscope", Greek for "beautiful form", lies somewhere between painting and photography, the shapes, colours and materials combining to form almost abstract compositions. These carefully observed images reflect the reality and spirit of the islands which Hans Silvester has made central themes of his work.
