Photographs and illustrations attempt to capture the spirit of train travel past and present, and provide an insight into how different types of trains work. Step-by-step projects and model-making experiments are included which also help explain ideas such as how the whells stay on the track, how the different propulsion mechanisms work and how the tunnels and bridges are built. The book is aimed at supplementing the National Curriculum science, design and technology and history specifications at Key Stage 2.
