This work seeks to meet the reality of gardening in the very small spaces that most people have to work in. It shows how the restrictions imposed by space can be side-stepped and demonstrates what can really be achieved in restricted areas. Practical guidance is given on initial planning and choices and ways of exploiting the space, and suggestions are made for evoking a particular atmosphere. Over 30 illustrated planting schemes are included, as is a directory of 150 key plants for small spaces.
