Chelsea: Seen from Its Earliest Days by John Bignell
This is a collection of photographs, tracing the last 100 years of Chelsea's history. From Edwardian hypocrisy, through neo-Georgian flapperdom, the austerity of World War II and the swinging 1960s, the "village" has arrived at its present status - the Yuppies' desirable location for a four-day week town house and the natural home of the Sloane Ranger. The author has lived in Chelsea for more than 40 years.
