John Prior is coming up for parole. Prior was a bank robber who had once stared Resnick in the face with a gun, but now he seems reformed. But Resnick feels uneasy. His current preoccupation is Operation Kingfisher, which has been trying to track down a new gang who are not afraid of violence.
