Modular Mathematics Summary

Modular Mathematics: Module E: Mechanics 1 by L. Bostock

This is part of a modular mathematics series for use by students wishing to gain academic qualifications beyond GCSE. Together with "Module A", this book covers the work necessary for an AS-level subject combining pure maths and mechanics. Assuming no knowledge of mechanics, the book starts with work designed to build up, from the study of simple everyday situations, a framework of basic techniques. Further concepts are then added gradually. Some of the pure mathematics covered in "Module A" is used in this book, but it is not necessary to have completed the work in "Module A" before starting on the mechanics. The order of the topics has been arranged so that the two modules can be studied concurrently, the necessary pure mathematics preceding the areas of mechanics where it is applied.
