Responses to Music by Lisa Mackenzie
This addition to the Bright Ideas series provides essential teacher support for the teaching of music appreciation, now a statutory requirement (Attainment Target 2: Listening and appraising). Organized by themes, the ideas are lively and child-centred, introducing pupils to a wide variety of musical forms and content and developing their vocabulary and confidence to respond in a number of ways. The activities deal with music which reflects a range of styles, cultures and periods and clear background information is given to support the non-specialist teacher.
