Righteous Fury Summary

Righteous Fury: The Legends of the Alfar Book I by Markus Heitz

The first in the fast-and-furious fantasy adventure The Legends of the AElfar: the worlds of the dark elves and the dwarves collide in what Malazan Empire calls 'Tolkien with a dash of Gemmell and a sprinkling of George R.R. Martin'.

The elves, dwarves and humans all know the alfar to be dark, relentless warriors. This is their time.

In Dson Faimon, the realm of the alfar, the warriors are planning a military campaign. Caphalor and Sinthoras are looking to enlist a powerful demon to strengthen their army - but the two alfar have very different goals. While Caphalor is determined to defend the borders of their empire and no more, the ambitious Sinthoras is intent on invasion: and he has the kingdoms of dwarves, elves and men firmly in his sights.

Righteous Fury is the first book in bestselling author Markus Heitz's The Legends of the AElfar series.

Righteous Fury Reviews

Heitz keeps on delivering ... I would recommend Righteous Fury to everyone looking for exciting Tolkien-inspired fantasy * Upcoming4me *
Tolkien with a dash of Gemmell and a sprinkling of George R.R. Martin * Malazan Empire on Markus Heitz *
Driven by unrelenting action, [the book] springs to life through the vivid, vigorous writing * Kirkus on the Legends of the Alfar *
A Tolkienesque fantasy adventure novel needs a solid villain for the readers to loathe, and in Markus Heitz's Righteous Fury, we find a quite impressive one . . . If your bookshelf is already home to Tolkien, Martin, and company, Righteous Fury will find a comfortable spot to fit in * Booklist on Righteous Fury *
The prose is sharp, the action sequences bloody and all in this has been a real joy to read. Throw into the mix some cracking double-dealing, some political machinations and all in this series has been a pure joy from start to finish and definitely one I'd recommend to other fantasy fans * Falcata Times *
There is adventure, fighting, death, one truly gruesome act and a people going to war. I enjoyed this book and I want more about the AElfar. Because at the end, stuff is going down * Books for Life *
A welcome return to the world of Markus Heitz's Dwarves series * Dominish *
I enjoyed the book. It's a well written fantasy story . . . I suppose it bears warning that the main characters are evil Alfar, so you've got to be able to get through a few grotesque descriptions and overall evilness of the people in order to really enjoy the story * Novelnaut *

About Markus Heitz

Markus Heitz trained to be a teacher after studying history and German literature, then going on to an MA in History. He spent several years as a journalist, writing in his free time, before the runaway success of The Dwarves allowed him to give up the day job. His debut epic fantasy novel, Schatten uber Ulldart (Shadows over Ulldart) was the first of many of his books to win the Deutscher Phantastik Preis (Germany's premier literary award for fantasy) in 2003. Since then he has frequently topped the bestseller charts, and his Number One bestselling Dwarves and Aelfar series have earned him a place among Germany's most successful fantasy authors. The DOORS series, where each book follows the adventurers as they choose a different door, have earned him a whole new audience as he plays with fantasy, thriller and mystery tropes to keep the reader always interested. He currently lives in Saarland, in Germany.
