King Icicle and his gloomy companions delight in sending storms down to earth, and relish the crackle of lightning and the crash of thunder. In contrast, Queen Goldenlight and her friends delight in warmth and light, and spend their days happily singing and dancing. Determined to free the earth from the ravages of snow and ice, Queen Goldenlight finds a unique way of overcoming her cold opponent. The King's icy grip starts to thaw and the rotating seasons of summer and winter are born.
