A Sailing Boat in the Sky Summary

A Sailing Boat in the Sky by Quentin Blake

Walking along the beach one day two children, Isobel and Nicholas, discover a ruined old sailing boat lying in the sand. They resolve to put this strange boat together, and so begins their great adventure. Aided by, Simona, a wounded stork, the children soar through the sky in their sailing boat and see a world that has lost its way. A girl being bullied, a weak child forced to work, a boy who can barely breathe in a polluted city, a mother and her baby trapped in a war zone - at each place they stop to help. These missions, however, take their toll, and the boat is seriously damaged. Finding a safe place to land, the children and their new friends manage to build a bigger, better boat so that, one fine morning, an amazing new sailing boat can take to the sky.
