Detective Inspector Bill Forward is working at Hackney police station when he and a police constable answer a 999 call from a woman in distress. When they arrest the woman's husband, whose brutal attack has left her with terrible injuries, DI Forward considers the case closed...but he is wrong. Having serving his prison sentence, the sadistic Bob Plummer is hell-bent on revenge. After attacking the police constable who assisted in his arrest, Plummer goes looking for DI Forward.
