About Richard Kurti

Richard Kurti studied at Cambridge then worked at the BBC as a TV sound recordist. This led to a move into full time screenwriting. Richard's film writing includes 14 completed commissions for US studios (Universal, Warner Bros, Miramax and Laika) and UK companies such as Working Title and Pathe. His TV writing includes BBC adaptations of Kidnapped and Sherlock Holmes, episodes of Robin Hood, Primeval (ITV), Sinbad (Sky), Wolfblood (BBC), and a large-scale adaptation of Terry Pratchett's Going Postal for Sky. These shows have earned widespread industry recognition with BAFTA nominations and RTS Awards. In 2013, Richard branched out into new areas, with a radio dramatization of The Martian Chronicles (BBC Radio 4). Monkey Wars, his debut novel, was nominated for the CILIP Carnegie Medal.
