Dorothy thinks she is lost forever when a terrifying tornado crashes through Kansas and whisks her and her dog, Toto, far away to the magical land of Oz. Dorothy must follow the yellow brick road to the Emerald City and find the wonderfully mysterious Wizard of Oz. Together with her companions the Tin Woodman, the Scarecrow and the Cowardly Lion whom she meets on the way, Dorothy embarks on a strange and enchanting adventure.

About Robert Ingpen

Karen Saunders has an MA in Creative Writing from Bath Spa University and has worked for Parragon and Barefoot Books. Her first picture book, Baby Badger's Wonderful Night, was published by Gullane. She has also worked as a primary school teacher. Karen lives in Bath with her husband and young son. Follow Karen at www.karensaunders.co.uk or on Twitter: @writingkaren Robert Ingpen was born in 1936 in Geelong, Australia, and still lives and works nearby in Barwon Heads. In 1986 he was awarded the Hans Christian Andersen Medal for his contribution to children's literature and he has been honoured with Membership of the Order of Australia. L. Frank Baum (1856-1919) was born in the village of Chittenango, New York. His first children's book, a collection of nursery rhymes, was published in 1897, and he wrote many more books for children under his own name and various pseudonyms. He is best known for his books about the magical Land of Oz. The first, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, was published in 1900 and was an instant hit - followed by thirteen sequels. Baum was an unstoppable creative force, pouring his energy and fortunes into his writing and producing many theatrical and film adaptations of his works.
