This book includes photographs of over 1250 perennials from around the world, both wild and cultivated, as well as text describing the plant's origins, characteristics, frost hardiness and favoured growing conditions. Volume one of this series looks at early perennials. Roger Phillips won the Andre Simon Prize for "Wild Food" in 1983 and is the author of "Wild Flowers", "Trees", "Mushrooms" and "Roses and Shrubs".
