Summary
It's 1917, and war or no war, monied Europe feels the need for winter sunshine. Gustav Oscarsson and Katya Olovanova fly south to bask in the warmth of the Riviera, she from Moscow, he from Oslo. Gustav takes Katya back to Oslo as his bride and death, tragedy and scandal follow.

Sue Prideaux was born and brought up in Norway but now runs a garden design company and specialises in historic gardens. Married with two children, she has worked in publishing offices, is a dab-hand at pig husbandry and is currently completing a post-graduate degree.
