This text offers practical activity ideas for educators of 3-6 year olds based on popular early years rhymes. The rhymes included are: Old Mother Hubbard; Hickory, Dickory Dock; Jack and Jill; Mary, Mary Quite Contrary; and Humpty Dumpty. For each rhyme there are activities across the early years curriculum, plus ideas for displays, a cookery activity and photocopiable sheets. All the activities provide a foundation for the National Curriculum/Scottish Guidelines and cover many of the Desirable Outcomes for under-fives recommended by the School Curriculum and Assessment Authority.
