About Tim Hopgood

Tim Hopgood is an award-winning author and illustrator based in York, UK. His first picture book Our Big Blue Sofa won the Cambridgeshire Read It Again! Award in 2007. This was followed by A Dog Called Rod, shortlisted for the Red House Children's Book of the Year and the British Book Design Awards. In 2008 Tim won the Book Trust Early Years Award for Best Emerging Illustrator for Here Comes Frankie! His first book for younger readers Wow! Said The Owl was shortlisted for the Book Trust Pre-School Award in 2009. Tim has been nominated for the Kate Greenaway Medal four times. Tim's picture book based on the much-loved song What a Wonderful World was published internationally and selected by Book Trust for their early years pack gifted to every two-year old child in Wales. Winter Wonderland was written in 1934 by Richard B Smith and Felix Bernard. They were inspired to write the song after Richard saw the park in his home town covered in glistening snow.
