Key to the puritan minimalist classicism of the time was the work of Inigo Jones, and this book provides a controversial reassessment not only of Jones himself but of his apprentice, John Webb. It also places the work of Roger Pratt above that of Isaac de Cans and argues that he must be considered the true disciple of Inigo Jones.
