britpulp! Summary

britpulp! by Tony White

Bursting out of the literary underground, all the writers in this ground-breaking anthology put the emphasis firmly back on gratuitous story-telling and brutal, break-neck plots. Scorching hardcore prose of Stewart Home's Sex Kick collides with the bitterly romantic confessions of Billy Childish. Nicholas Blincoe's cool and stylish thriller writing meets the street realism of Victor Headley's Retropolitan Police, while well-dressed London gangsters fight for page space with the old school skinheads of Richard Allen. Other confirmed authors include Donald Gorgan, Steve Aylett, along with untapped talent from the literary underground.

Fast-twitch prose that fizzes and spits, narrative with a kick, jump-cuts that hurt like a knuckle in the eye... - Iain Sinclair

About Tony White

Tony White is the author of cult novel ROAD RAGE! and a leading mover and shaker in the literary underground and the Brit Art gang. He has had journalism published in a wide variety of titles (including the TLS, Wired and The Big Issue) as well as editing the review section of a leading modern art magazine. He frequently gives performances of his fiction as often in clubs, art galleries, or performance art venues (including a disused toilet) as in traditional bookshop venues, as well as co-ordinating readings at the ICA and cult venues. He is also publisher of the critically acclaimed samizdat imprint Piece of Paper Press, and literary editor of The Idler magazine.
