Trevor Dickinson completed an Art Foundation course at Swindon College (Wiltshire) before going on to study Textile Design at Camberwell School of Art in London. After leaving college, Trevor spent several years working in London before embarking on a teaching career. He joined the West Surrey College of Art and Design in 1988 and taught textiles there for five years. Around the same time that Trevor started teaching, he also began to freelance in graphics and textile design - specialising in children's wear. Since then, he has designed clothes for the majority of UK high street stores. As well as illustrating Kitty Princess for Orchard Books, Trevor still designs children's wear and textiles and has recently designed the t-shirts for the Rolling Stones! Trevor currently lives in Australia. Emma Carlow lives in London with her husband, young baby and cat, Flynn. Emma met Trevor Dickinson in London while they were designing children's T-Shirt and textile designs. They both liked children's books so much that they decided to write one of their own. Their first book Kitty Princess and the Newspaper Dress is a modern fairy tale with a twist. Kitty Princess likes to think that she's the prettiest cat in town, but really she's the rudest. The Fairy Godmouse must teach her some manners before Prince Quince's ball. Emma and Trevor did all the writing and illustrating together even though they now live over 10,000 miles apart. Emma spends most of her spare time talking on the phone to and emailing Trevor. They still feel like they live in the same city.
